The Department of Education, Skills and Employment has analysed data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the United States Department of Labour O*NET Database to produce insights into the potential risk from COVID-19 on different occupations in the labour market.

This visualisation includes the levels of Physical Proximity to others that workers in different types of jobs typically experience, and the Exposure to Disease and Infection they may experience through their daily duties.
The data shows that service based occupations, particularly those in the Health Care and Social Assistance industry, are at greatest risk from COVID-19. Indeed, the data highlights the importance of social distancing in managing the spread of COVID-19 and the incidence of Physical Proximity to others.
