PKPA hosted a series of forums in two capital cities and two regional areas for the Department of Education and Training to assist with policy development and ensure apprenticeships are able to meet the future skill needs of Australian industry. The scope of the forums included apprenticeships in trade and non-trade occupations.
At the time the forums were undertaken, there was considerable public attention being given to the declining number of people being trained through the Australian Apprenticeships system. Over 200 stakeholders from industry, representative groups, government and apprentices attended the forums in person and via webinar.
