Barbering in WA Today
The Certificate III in Barbering was developed by RAPS in 2016 for the hairdressing industry in WA due to the increasing demand for men’s grooming services. Previously, barbers in WA could only study hairdressing units that were not relevant or specific to the barbershop, which resulted in many not completing formal qualifications. The Barbering apprenticeship was developed to support the training of barbering professionals and a future of a highly skilled barbering workforce.
Qualifications
The barbering qualification is included in the SHB Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training Package and provides employees with a career to help them secure a future within the barbering and hairdressing sector.
